During the construction phase (April 22nd, 2025 – June 2026), the funicular and the Hallstatt High Valley will no longer be accessible for people with limited mobility. Additionally, for safety reasons, the footpath to the Salzberg will be CLOSED! We kindly ask for your understanding.

New Funicular Railway Hallstatt – Construction Has Begun!
Work on the new funicular railway is in full swing – and we’re right in the middle of it! Despite the construction site, the location remains open, though delays in tours and rides may occur.
For a more relaxed experience, we currently recommend visiting the Salzwelten Salzburg or Altaussee.
